Sightseeing

The Greater Niagara Region offers a large variety of things to see and do. The Branches of Niagara Campground is only 10 minutes from Niagara Falls State Park and 15 minutes from the city of Buffalo. In the General Store we have a wall of brochures and information about most attractions. We can also provide information about sightseeing tours. Grayline tours should be booked at least one day in advance and depart from the campground.

Listed below is our recommendation of things you will not want to miss.

Niagara Falls the 7th Wonder of the World

Millions of people have visited Niagara Falls for their power and natural beauty. Honeymooners have flocked to Niagara Falls since the 19th century. Famous visitors to the Falls have included JFK, Princess Diana, Pierre Trudeau, Jimmy Carter and more. Niagara Falls was also featured in such films as “Niagara” with Marilyn Monroe and “Superman II” with Christopher Reeve.

Maid of the Mist

The Maid of the Mist has been transporting visitors to the base of Niagara Falls since 1846. This is a boat ride that you don't want to miss as it is the only way to experience both the American Falls and Horseshoe Falls and the power of the mighty Niagara River from this vantage point.

Cave of the Winds

Soak up the experience of being closer to the waters of Niagara Falls than you thought possible. Your journey begins with an elevator ride 175 feet into the Niagara Gorge. Then, clad in a souvenir rain poncho and sandals, you'll follow a tour guide over wooden walkways to the Hurricane Deck, less than 20 feet from the torrents of Bridal Veil Falls. On the deck, you'll experience tropical storm-like conditions, getting doused with the spray from the rushing waters. A special Cave of the Winds viewing area has also been set up for handicapped individuals and adults with children in arms.

IMAX Theatre

Hold on to your seats! Experience the thunderous power of Niagara Falls from a heart-thumping perspective. The IMAX Theatre Niagara Falls features a more than six-stories high screen and 12,000 watts of floor shaking digital surround sound that will make feel like you're right in the heart of the action.

Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours

Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours has been one of Niagara’s premier family attractions since 1992. With awe-inspiring scenery, historical landmarks lining the shores of the Niagara River, the adventure of class 5 rapids and the thrill of Devil’s hole whirlpool! Trips with Whirlpool Jet boat tours are between 45 – 60 minutes, plus a half an hour for orientation, guests will be with us for approximately 1.5 hours – 2hours. Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours is appropriate for all ages (minimum 44inches tall on the ‘Wet Jet’ and 40 inches tall on the ‘Jet Dome’. Book online and save $7.50 per person!

Skylon Tower

The Skylon Tower stands near famous Niagara Falls, offering visitors a stunning view of the area from its Observation deck, 775 feet above the mighty falls. Niagara’s tallest tower also features several dining options, including a revolving dining room which makes one complete rotation per hour.

Journey Behind the Falls

The sound is like thunder, the sight awe-inspiring! Take a journey deep below and behind the heart of Niagara and stand in the mist where the mighty Canadian Horseshoe Falls tumbles from 13 stories above!

Whirlpool Aero Car

Get a great view and a rush of adrenalin by traveling above the Niagara Whirlpool and its rapids in an antique cable car. The Whirlpool Aero Car is open seasonally in suitable weather.
